Tell that to the folks over in Newport News, Virginia

Etrician55 November 10, 2009 at 2:16 PM

that was a deadly and stupid thing they ordered him to do, but i like to look at things in a positive light, if he was exposed at high levels for a short period of time, it is not a growing concern in general, it is mainly those who handle asbestos in a day to day fashion at high levels of the mineral fibers in the air who suffer a greater risk of contracting asbestosis, mesothelioma, or lung cancer. basically, the less exposure, the better if this just took him an afternoon, decreased risk etc.

Thank you. God Bless America & the Coalition Forces!

I’ve been to Ft Bragg numerous occasions in 2002. I had a significant other and relatives preparing for deployment from there via Polk AFB. After spending 21 yrs in the Army & four years in the Air Force, I spent time in worse barracks/work areas throughout my 25 yrs in the military, however, the ABSBESTOS issue is the only issue that this is about. We need to address these issues only. Personal issues need to stay out of this. Emotions get in the way. God Bless America & the Coalition Forces!!

just want jason and family to know that we are continueing to pray for you all and thinking of you all often. don’t give up.

An opinon is one thing, an out right insult, defamtion of character and attack on some ones integrity is different. Its pretty cowardly to post untrue garbage an lies about some one and to insult a man we hes not there to defend himself.

jump2Xtreme November 21, 2009 at 8:11 AM

question for all of Jason’s family members that are commenting in this forum. How many of you have actually been to Fort Bragg?
I’d like to arrange a tour for you all. Come NC spend a day see the sights, check out the barracks, old and new and meet some of the people that have served this country for decades.

penny061054 November 24, 2009 at 7:28 AM

Hats off to Jason and all of our soldiers who have been to war and back!!! I could only possibly IMAGINE what going to war and being in the military is like – I respect each and everyone of you who has served and is serving! Respect each other like we repsect you.

BRAGGALOT1 you created a youtube account today just so you bitch about this video? your a pathetic ass hole?

ashtim1996 November 30, 2009 at 5:05 PM

Im a sick gulf war veteran due to the negligence of the government and military. I feel that the leaders who ordered these soldiers to obey this unlawful order needs to be punished by UCMJ. These so called leaders put their soldiers lifes in danger. The families are doing the right thing. do not stop with this or the soldiers will be sick 18years from now and the military will deny all responsibilty. Good job Pvt. Colchiski- you saved some soldiers life and deserve a medal.

DeborahHart1962 December 4, 2009 at 11:12 AM

BRAGGALOT1? That name says alot. It sounds like you are jealous of Jason. Grow up! I would be careful in my insinuations of the government making families disappear. If you don’t have anything intelligent of informative to add, stay out of it!

antuoine312 December 5, 2009 at 7:57 AM

This is typical military acts, dont worry jason man hang in there , i have been in the military for six years man and trust me your not alone they think just cause there the government they can cover shit up and move on. So the hell with all the negative comments people are saying about you , you did the right thing , your health is more important.

akuhn2003 December 8, 2009 at 12:31 PM

Who said anyone was going to sue?

BRAGGALOT1 December 8, 2009 at 4:06 PM

OK. OK. OK.

Tell this whiny little baby to grow up! I thought he was a man. Hes a dirtbag soldier and should be chaptered out. I know the chain of comman wish they court martialed him rather than the article 15. He had to send a piece of tile to his daddy and now they have a lawyer and theyre going to sue uncle sam??? Sometimes the government makes families like this disappear.

akuhn2003 December 11, 2009 at 7:36 AM

The biggest issue is that this is not new news. As we all recall the April news, Fort Bragg was under fire becuase of both Mold and Asbestos. Everyone there, I’m sure, is fully aware of the age of the buildings and the aweful living conditions of most soldiers. They are serving our country and they deserve to have better accomodations!
