I dont care if people smoke, as long as they dont smoke next to none smokers that dont want to be near them and young people.

Smokers are the new pariahs, the people it is socially acceptable to hate.
Socially acceptable hatred is more dangerous than second hand smoke.

lizdeadhead November 10, 2009 at 4:03 PM

yeah, I’ve been taking Chantix for about 2 weeks and within the first week, my desire was gone, but the habit is still there. It will get better, I know.

no, the damage is permanent… but his risk factors for other diseases (cardiac arrest, emphysema) shall decrease with years, provided of course, your father never smokes again, good luck.

MRkallek91 November 23, 2009 at 4:21 AM

no, lung cells do not reproduce after dead. his lungs are rotten.

valjean9863 November 24, 2009 at 4:36 PM

my dad smoked heavily for 10 years but he has not smoked for 20 years. Would his lungs be back to normal again? thanks!

FabFubar November 26, 2009 at 12:06 PM

yeah, that’d be even worse
cuz it would be other people’s fault

It would be a murder without a punishment the way i see it

InuYashaMart November 29, 2009 at 12:10 AM

This may happens, what is called second hand smoke i think. Its more dangerous but, at least you don’t have contact with it more often, i think ;D

gbthorn77 November 29, 2009 at 10:03 AM

i smoked for 14 years and tried t quit a million times. i took chantix for one month and have been smoke free for almost two years now. if you fall off the wagon again, try chantix. it completely took my desire to smoke away.

gbthorn77 November 29, 2009 at 10:32 AM

80-90% of emphysema cases are linked to smoking. the likelihood of a nonsmoker developing emphysema is extremely low. smoking is one of the worst things you can do for your health. i smoked for 14 years and I wonder what permanent damage I did that will show up later in life.

southparkresident November 29, 2009 at 10:58 AM

thanks man, I take it you’ve been there. For some reason this is like my fourth attempt and it’s much easier this time.

Good call bro, just replace cigarettes with something healthy, like Water, or flavoured water. Especially when gaming, it gives you something to do with your mouth during load screens :)

FabFubar December 8, 2009 at 8:16 AM

you know what would suck?
Getting lung cancer without ever touching a cigar(ette)

rcollins305 December 8, 2009 at 3:47 PM

Respectfully, I don’t think anyone here was singling out smokers to make them feel guilty, especially those of us who used to smoke. It’s hard for me to forget how my life revolved around cigarettes, and all I feel is sympathy for people who are addicted to tobacco.

Save your anger for the CEO of Philip Morris, who makes $8,900,000/year selling poison. IDEA: Put his picture on every pack of Marlboros so smokers can see who they’re working for. Caption: “Smoke One for Me! I need a new yacht.”
